n 1970, a local family purchased a small hardware store adjacent to The University of Texas campus. As the years went by, that small hardware store expanded to two locations and is now an Austin institution. Still locally owned and operated, the stores were purchased in 2015 by a new family of retailers. This new family has a vision to expand the role of Ace Hardware in the two stores – from being the “behind the scenes” supplier of great hardware products, to revitalizing the brand and growing the business throughout central Texas. Named one of bon appetit’s “50 best new restaurants in America” in 2013, sway was also most recently voted “2019 best brunch in Austin” + “best happy hour in Austin” by readers of Austin monthly as well as “2019 best thai food” by the Austin-American statesman.

Founded in 1992, Austin Parks Foundation (APF) is dedicated to partnering with our community to enhance people’s lives by making our public parks, trails and green spaces better through volunteerism, innovative programming, advocacy and financial support. With a focus on creating equitable access to great parks for all Austinites, APF is helping fill the City's parks funding and resource gap. Funding initiatives like APF’s community-initiated grants have distributed over $3 million since 2006, and the annual flagship volunteer event, It’s My Park Day, results in an average of $650,000 in volunteer labor each year. APF also fosters unique public/private partnerships like the Zilker Train, empowers neighbors all over the city to create a parks system that serves their needs, and is a presenting partner and beneficiary of the popular Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Metropolitan Park.
